Prince Harry allegedly ‘withdrew’ from his trusted friends after they became skeptical of Meghan Markle, a royal author has said.

Prince Harry‘s life has been in the spotlight from long before he met Meghan. But there is no doubt that the coverage have increased tenfold since the Duke of Sussex decided to step down from official royal duties. Among many critics’ observations, one constant claim is how Harry has changed and moved away from his ‘old life’ which includes his noticeable distance from close friends in the UK.

Prince Harry ‘withdrew’ from his friends

Journalist and royal author Angela Levin writes in her book Harry: Conversations with the Prince that the Duke grew significantly distant from his friends after he noticed how Meghan Markle was perceived among them.

Levin says this happened shortly after Meghan Markle became Harry’s blushing bride, and when the couple were in their honeymoon period.

Speaking of the change, she wrote: “Harry, meanwhile, was distancing himself from his old friends including Tom ‘Skippy’ Inskip, a close pal at Eton who was also with Harry during his infamous trip to Las Vegas in 2012 when he was photographed naked during a game of strip billiards.

“Inskip and other friends were considered to be a questionable influence during Harry’s more wild bachelor days.”

Speaking of the distancing and the possible reasons behind that, Angela offered: “Harry is also believed to have withdrawn from former pals because they were somewhat skeptical of his relationship with Meghan.”

Expert claims Harry ‘longs’ for his old life

Angela Levin is not the only royal expert who notices Harry’s change in social life after his marriage with Meghan. Hollywood expert Mark Boardman also believes that Harry’s inner circle has changed noticeably as he moved out of the UK.

“Prince Harry’s social life has notably shifted over the past decade,” Mark said.

“He appears to have distanced himself from his college friends and lacks a permanent UK residence.”

Prince Harry has often been spotted attending public events solo, and the entertainment commentator claims that it is during this time that he must miss his old friends.

“During his visits to London, he typically resides in hotels and avoids public appearances. Undoubtedly, Prince Harry longs for his old friendships,” he added.
