The Always-Forgotten NARS Candles Are Ones You Need in Your Collection

April 2024 · 2 minute read

Over the years, NARS has spawned more than a few cult makeup products, and that’s for good reason: Founder François Nars knows how to deliver on color, trends, and staying power—and his fans always come back for more.

But what few of those fans realize is that the brand also has an excellent trio of candles. I’m someone who often shies away from overbearing scents for fear of migraines, but these don’t disappoint. With sleek packaging you’ll want to display, the Oran, Jaipur, and Acapulco scents all give you something different, depending on mood.

Oran ($50) is my light, gardenia-infused go-to. With a mix of “sweet balsamic undertones” to balance the white gardenia, tuberose, jasmine, and “luscious, leafy greens,” this scent is that perfect yin and yang of citrus, floral, and green. Burn this when you’re faking a spa day at home.

Jaipur ($50) is another sweet one, blending citrus and pomegranate, but it’s balanced with floral notes of rose and jasmine with a touch of amber and vanilla. It’s the perfect scent for those days when you really need to air out your apartment—let this candle burn for a couple of hours, and everyone will think you’re a master housekeeper.

Lastly, Acapulco ($50) is the richest of the scents. It’s the best to burn when you’re getting ready for a night on the town (or a sexy night in). A blend of coffee beans, whipped cream accord (!), and vanilla, this is basically dessert in a candle—but so much more sophisticated.
